Instructions:

Prepare the Dough:-

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the rice flour, urad dal flour (if using), Jivana turmeric powder, Jivana red chilli powder, Jivana sea salt, cumin seeds, and asafoetida.
  2. Add the melted butter to the flour mixture and mix well until the butter is evenly distributed.
  3. Gradually add water, a little at a time, and knead into a smooth, soft dough that is easy to press but not too sticky.

Shape the Murukku:-

  1. Heat oil in a deep frying pan on medium heat.
  2. Take a portion of the dough and place it in a murukku press or piping bag with a star-shaped nozzle.
  3. Press the dough into the hot oil, forming a spiral or any shape you like. Make sure not to overcrowd the pan.

Fry the Murukku:-

  1. Fry the murukku on medium heat until they turn golden brown and crispy. Flip them occasionally for even cooking.
  2. Once done, remove the murukku and place it on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Cool and Serve:-

  1. Allow the Butter Murukku to cool down before serving. These crunchy, flavorful snacks are perfect for munching anytime or sharing during special occasions.

1/4 tsp asafoetida (hing)
Water (as needed)
